Pam Poirier – Assistant Coach – instructional technology teacher for 20 years at RMMS. Computer Lab specialist for 10 years in k-5 elementary school. BS from Southern University at Carbondale and MS from University of New Haven. Afterschool Robotics Club leader.
Brian McGlinchey – Assistant Coach - RIT student, Electrical Engineering. Participated in FLL, then VEX in High School, Team Captain Senior year. Took his teams to VEX World’s three consecutive times.
Our TEAMS APPROACH
Our program is different because our members run it…
From designing their own t-shirts to raising the money to pay the bills, our members learn to be self sufficient. Even the original SECTR logo was designed by former team member Daria Collbath (Class of 2019).
Our coaches' goals are to attend tournaments, support students, and let the team members’ expertise and confidence shine.
Members are given the tools and techniques they need leading up to the competition. They practice making independent decisions throughout the season. This faith in their abilities allows the members to rise to the challenge and take pride in their performances.
